Geoff Warnes gained his honours degree in structural engineering at Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand in 1986, and a Masters of Business Administration (Technology Management) from Deakin APESMA, Australia, in 1994, and has over 20 years' experience in structural engineering design, having worked in New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore and Malaysia prior to arriving in Thailand in 1996, and thence establishing Warnes Associates in 1999.
Geoff is actively involved in all phases of project implementation and co-ordination, with a particular concern first and foremost to meet the clients' project objectives.
Vanich has 16 years' experience as a structural engineer involved in a large range of projects both within Thailand and internationally. Fully conversant with major international codes and Thai standards and regulations, Vanich joined Warnes Associates in 2001, becoming a director in 2002,and is responsible for the management of the design office including all conceptual design, documentation, quality control, as well as company business development.
Project work undertaken includes various high-rise building in Bangkok, large industrial facilities in Rayong; and commercial complexes in Pattaya, on-site supervision of the Rama 3 Bridge, Chao Praya River, Bangkok, a cement factory in Dubai, and high-rise buildings in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and the UK. Vanich's experience includes secondment to Zurich, Switzerland
Vanich is a class II (Sor Yor) Registered Engineer with the Ministry of Interior, Thailand, and also holds an MBA from Thammasat University, Bangkok.
Pitipong has nine years experience working for engineering consultants in Bangkok, with a further two years working in a project management capacity for an offshore marine structure project, joining with Warnes Associates in its foundation year, 1999.
His diverse experience in structural design includes high-rise residential, commercial office and retail buildings for Bangkok, including the prestigious Emporium shopping center, Ford Thailand showrooms, residential precast concrete construction, tension fabric steel support structures, glass façade design, and resort development for Phuket projects. Pitipong holds a Thai Class II Engineering Professional License (Sor Yor).
Rhodri Lewis - Associate
Director
Rhodri has considerable
experience in the structural design of bridges, buildings and buried
structures together with associated drainage and highways. His experience
has included new design, assessment, strengthening and refurbishment works
using both hand calculation and computer aided design techniques. Rhodri
joined Warnes Associates in 2004 and is primarily involved in major Phuket
projects.
He has also gained significant experience in contract procurement, administration and supervision for bridge, building, site investigation, land reclamation and tunnelling contracts. His work has included liaison with clients, local authorities, other design professionals and contractors.
Roderick Turner - Senior Civil/Roads
Consultant
Roderick is a
Construction industry veteran with 36 years' experience in a wide range of
large scale projects, both as consultant and as contractor. Roderick has
more than 15 years experience in all aspects of Highway construction as
Owner's Engineer for the design, specification, tender, pricing and
implementation of highway projects in Africa and China, including
consultation on highway improvement/upgrading schemes. Roderick also has
10 years' experience with contractor Christiani & Nielsen Thailand as
Project Development Manager for various construction projects throughout
South East Asia, responsible for estimating, tendering, planning,
contractural matters and client liaison services.
Chairat Rateepoon – Senior Civil/Geotechnical
Engineer
Chairat holds a Masters of
Engineering specializing in Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering, from
Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. Chairat undertakes design and design
reviews of all Warnes Associates foundation and slope engineering works.
Chairat adds depth to the Warnes Associates team in his ability to
undertake interpretive analysis of geotechnical design parameters obtained
by independent specialist geotechnical investigation. Chairat's
significant geotechnical experience includes bored pile foundation designs
for several multi storey and precast townhouse projects in Bangkok, and
also includes slope protection design, slope stability assessment, and
foundation design (pad and piled) for several Phuket and Samui projects.
Tongkorn holds a bachelors degree in Irrigation Engineering from Kasetsart University. Tongkorn has 7 years experience, in civil and structural works, and holds a Sor Yor Thailand engineering licence. Tongkorn has designed drainage systems for many phuket sites, including Layan , Rawai, Surin Heights, and Waterby, and completed the site works design for the new Thai-Asia Pipes factory at Pak Chong, north of Bangkok.
Suchat is one of Thailands' most experienced AutoCad operators, with over fifteen years experience in preparation of computer generated drafting, including drafting to international standards for projects in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia, and to international clients within Thailand. His recent experience includes six months based in Melbourne, Australia. He has worked for consultants and contractors alike in preparing structural, civil, construction and architectural details. He is responsible for the preparation and quality of all project documentation produced in the office, as well as maintaining the AutoCad and general office computer systems.
Pornchai Lakkanapinit – Quality Assurance Manager/Project
Engineer - Structural
Pornchai has
almost 15 years experience in site roles as construction site engineer,
project engineer, in supervisory and inspecting roles. Pornchai's
educational background includes a bachelors degree in engineering from
Chiang Mai University, with a Masters of Business Administration from the
United States.
Pornchai's work experience includes that undertaken with both engineering design consultants and contractors for major projects including high-rise, industrial and residential housing of low, mid and high rise condominiums, requiring detailed construction co-ordination, planning and logistics , and for structures with a high degree of complexity, with international-standard reporting and quality control requirements. Pornchai's overseas experience includes execution of projects in Singapore and Malaysia.
Prapas Wisulokanon- Structural Engineer
Prapas has over 10 years' experience in site roles as construction site engineer, project manager, and construction manager in supervisory, inspection roles and construction management. His experience includes steel and concrete structures plus civil and earthworks. Projects have ranged from cable suspended roofed exhibition halls, telecommunication towers, waste water treatment plants, reservoirs, roads and heliports. He is Warnes Associates senior engineer based in the Koh Samui office.
